Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Sambandh app ("the app", "we") collects, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, how long it is retained, and how you can request its deletion.

1. Information we collect

When you create a profile, you provide:

• Identity details: full name, date of birth, gender, marital status, height, weight, photographs, and family details such as parents' and grandparents' names.
• Contact details: email address and phone number.
• Location details: country, state, city, area, pin code, native place and village.
• Community details: nukh (community lineage), education, occupation and work location.

We also collect technical data such as device notification tokens (used only to deliver push notifications) and standard app usage diagnostics through crash reporting.

2. How your information is used

• To create and display your matrimonial profile to other approved members of the community.
• To connect you with members who request contact, and to let you view contact details only after a mutual connection is established.
• To let administrators review registrations and moderate reported profiles.
• To send you notifications about requests, approvals and app activity.
• To keep the app secure and fix defects.

3. How your information is shared

• Your profile (excluding your phone number) is visible to other approved members of the community.
• Your phone number is never shown publicly. It is only revealed to a member after you and that member have mutually accepted a contact request.
• Administrators of the community can review your profile and phone number during registration review.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. Data retention

Your profile and associated data are retained while your account is active. If your registration is rejected, your details are retained to prevent duplicate applications. If you delete your account, or an administrator removes it, your profile and associated data are retained for review by the community administrators: the profile is no longer visible to other members, and you lose access to the app. Genuine privacy-law deletion requests should be directed to the administrators, who will arrange complete removal.

5. Deletion of your data

You can delete your account at any time from My Profile → Delete Account. This closes your access to the app. As described above, your profile and associated data are retained for review by the community administrators; it is no longer visible to other members. If you want your data completely removed, contact the administrators with a deletion request and they will arrange it. Retained data is only accessible to administrators and is never shown publicly.

6. Children

The app is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

Access to the community is gated by administrator approval, and contact details are protected behind mutual consent. We follow reasonable security practices for a community application. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed.
